Frequently Asked Questions ipC

How old does my child have to be to attend children’s church?
We welcome children into the classroom once they are able to walk independently (1 year old).

Can I bring my children to class late?
While we do encourage you to bring your children on time each week, we do accept kids at any time during the church service.  There is no cutoff time.

When is children’s ministry offered?
Programs for kids are held during each of the two weekend services.  Please see our weekly schedule for more information on our programs.

What steps do I take to have my child baptized?
The first and most important step is to help your child understand the significance of salvation.
Please also remember that baptism does not "save" your child.  Romans 10:9 says-- "if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."  Baptism is a step of obedience that is taken after the profession of faith has occurred.

Once your child is prepared to receive Christ and be baptized, here are the steps you take:
1.    Attend a New Believers Class for Kids with your child:
Each child is given the opportunity to make a personal commitment with prayer to follow Jesus.
Please contact the Children’s Ministry office for the next classroom date.

This class is required for all children who are baptized at Mt. Olivet.  Children must be at least 6 years of age to attend and parents are required to attend this class with their child.
2.    Attend your child’s Baptism, Baptism is held at both North and West campus. Please contact the church office for the date and time.
