Frequently Asked Questions...

When do classes meet?  Classes currently meet on Sunday mornings,  Wednesday mornings, and Wednesday nights.

How do I register?  Some classes have closed registration, meaning that those who enter must register at the designated registration period (usually 4 times per year).  Most classes have open registration, meaning you can register and enter the class at any time.  We charge for materials only, but not the class itself.   The Foundations and Doctrine classes have no charge.

How will classes help me? The Bible tells us to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18).  Our classes are designed to give you an opportunity to grow, not just in head knowledge, but in the application of the Word to your life.  We believe that if we continue growing and applying God's Word the difference will become evident in stronger faith, greater peace of mind, and greater blessings in our lives.  God will also use his word to show us areas where growth is needed and lead us to repent and be healed (2 Timothy 3:15-16; Hebrews 12:13).

Will the classes challenge me?  The concepts taught are not difficult to grasp, but you will be challenged to apply the things you learn through the events of life which happen while you are in class.

Can I come to a class if I do not attend Mt. Olivet or have never been to church before?
Yes, all classes, except those that have prerequisites, are open to anyone visiting, or coming to church for the first time.  If a class has a prerequisite you must take the prerequisite before entering that class.

Are the classes part of a system of instruction?
Yes.  There are six primary areas in our instruction:  These include Bible Study, Family Ministry, Doctrine, Overcoming Life's Problems, Spiritual Formation, Evangelism & Discipleship, and Ministry Development. It is recommended that everyone develop in each of these areas, thus achieving a balanced diet in the Word of God.  The Doctrine classes, together with the Evangelism and Discipleship classes are required for those pursuing Life Group leadership.
